Prof. Farhad Handjani is currently consultant dermatologist and chairman of the department of dermatology as well as the head of the Molecular Dermatology Research Centre at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Shiraz, Iran.
Prof. Handjani has also been trained as a GCP Clinical Monitor by WHO/ TDR. He has monitored both vaccine and drug clinical trials in a number of developing countries. One of his main interests is cutaneous leishmaniasis and he has published a number of articles in this field.
He has also been a guest speaker/chair at a number of international dermatology congresses both in Iran and across the globe. In addition, he is currently the editor-in-chief of the Middle East Journal of Cancer and the Iranian Journal of Dermatology and an editorial board member of a number of other national and international journals. He is also President of the Eastern Mediterranean Association of Medical Editors (EMAME), a fairly new association that has set out to promote high quality medical journals in that part of the world.
Prof. Handjani is currently the President of the Iranian Society of Dermatology and a member of The Iranian Board of Dermatology.
