Tropical Dermatoses include a wide diversity of dermatological problems that are unique in environmental and biological aspects, in tropical and subtropical regions where about 40% of world populations reside. The economic, social and cultural aspects are also different in the tropics with a great variation in the pattern of diseases and their prevalence.
The International Conference of Tropical Dermatology (ICTD) is mainly focused on the above tropical dermatoses with the aim of sharing the knowledge among fellow dermatologists worldwide and to create avenues for research, new therapeutics and better patient care. Sri Lanka College of Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine (SLCDA) former Sri Lanka College of Dermatologists (SLCD) took the initiative in organizing the 1st ICTD in 2016 at Colombo with a great success. Although SLCD took steps to have the next Tropical Dermatology Conference in 2020, the task could not be attained due to covid 19 global pandemic.
Continuing the theme “Topics from Tropics”, the 2nd International Conference on Tropical Dermatology (ICTD 2026) will take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, as a joint academic event organized by the SLCDA and Deutsche Dermatologische Gesellschaft / German Dermatological Society (DDG), from 11th to 13th March 2026. The scientific program encompasses variety of topics related to tropical dermatoses with eminent speakers from Germany, USA, UK, Australia, Philippines, South Africa, India and Sri Lanka. ICTD 2026 will be a great platform to boost the knowledge on tropical skin diseases, renew and establish international friendships and invariably to explore beautiful Sri Lanka, “The pearl of the Indian Ocean”.
To harness the collective spirit and enthusiasm on Tropical Dermatology and open pathways for better patient care, the SLCDA wishes to organize this International Conference on Tropical Dermatology at regular intervals in the future.
